Refugee Crisis

Call to Action on Behalf of Refugees

The world is currently witnessing the highest levels of displacement on record. Currently, 65.3 million people, one person out of every 122 on the planet, is said to be a refugee, internally displaced person or asylum seeker. During this time of global need, anti-immigrant hostilities threaten the resettlement opportunities for thousands of individuals. Despite these concerns, a 2014 study by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation found that the KC metro area would benefit from additional immigrants in terms of population growth, wages and employment. Refugees are not a drain on America, but bring immeasurable value to this country. We know that refugees not only bring value to America, but they unconditionally love this country, and will defend America.

Security screenings are extensive and rigorous

The United States handpicks the refugees who resettle here, and they go through multiple layers of security checks, making them the most thoroughly vetted group of people who come to the United States. Security screenings are rigorous and involve the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, the Department of Defense and multiple intelligence agencies.
