Direct and supervise the Immigration Counseling Service Program. Assist clients with applications to USCIS and follow through the process to obtain their desired result.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in the field of immigration law and procedure. Must be accredited or pursuing accreditation by the Board of Immigration Appeals.
Maintain knowledge of current immigration law and procedure.
See clients to address immigration needs, provide advice, file appropriate forms and see clients through the process, which may include accompanying them to USCIS interviews.
Record client progress and financial transactions in Penelope database.
Responsible for overseeing responsibilities for Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, Safe Release Support grant.
Responsible for scheduling and fingerprinting Unaccompanied Minor sponsors within 72 hours of contact by sponsor or shelter.
Monitor financial standing of the program.
Conduct outreach and make presentations about the program.
Supervise Immigration Assistant and maintain staff coverage during daily hours of operation.
Maintain good relationships with immigration office, Legal Aid, local attorneys and other stakeholders
Maintain good relationships with grant funders; take responsibility for keeping appropriate grant-related data; submit reports, grant renewals and other grant-related information.
