Refugee Employment Services

To provide comprehensive employment and training services to refugees, asylees, and parolees living in Missouri and to assist them to achieve social and economic self-sufficiency.

Overview

The JVS Refugee Employment Program services include: in-depth employment orientation, vocational assessment, employment planning, job readiness training, transportation, job placement, case management, interpreter services, job upgrades, follow-up services, and mediation and resolution of culture-related work issues. In order to be eligible for services, participants must demonstrate refugee , asylee, or parolee status, appropriate documentation of time in the U.S. and proof of residency.

The Refugee Employment Program is federally funded through the Missouri Division of Family Services/Refugee Department. Direct services are provided at the downtown JVS location, employment sites, and training in satellite locations.
