Cultural Competency for a Changing World
JVS offers "Cultural Competency for A Changing World," an affordable, customized program for non-profit organizations and businesses employing a diverse workforce. Through seminars and consultations, JVS aids in developing an
understanding and appreciation of the dynamic differences present in
every cross-cultural encounter. Participants develop the skills to
communicate across cultural boundaries and learn how to assess their
organization's overall level of Cultural Competency. Timeframe and content are tailored to meet the needs of the organization or business.

Language and Cultural Services Language and Cultural Services (LCS) was created to improve the health and well-being of non-English speakers by providing health care and social service access. LCS sponsors the Kansas-Missouri Refugee-Immigrant Forum that offers current information to newcomer advocates in the bi-state region.
Bridging the Gap
JVS provides interpreter training through Bridging the Gap, a forty-hour program developed and copyrighted by Cross Cultural Health Care Program (CCHCP) of Seattle, WA. JVS trainers have been instructed by CCHCP to provide this comprehensive course, offered for bilingual speakers of all languages. JVS is the only organization in Kansas and Western Missouri licensed by CCHCP to offer this training. JVS has offered the course since 2000. JVS Interpreter Services
JVS Interpreter Services JVS provides skilled interpreters in more than 30 languages for non-profit organizations, clinics, hospitals, and legal services at an affordable non-profit rate. Clients include the Kansas City Health Department, Legal Services of Western Missouri, KU Medical Center and others.
