Evaluation Services

The JVS Evaluation Services program provides services centered on assisting individuals in determining appropriate vocational goals as well as action steps to meet these goals. Evaluation is the process of assessing an individual's strenths and weaknesses, with the goal of establishing a realistic vocational objective. The vocational goal is determined between the individual, the referral source, and JVS Evaluation staff members. This process involves academic, aptitude and interest testing, as well as disability, social, financial, and functional assessment information into a vocational goal. JVS currently serves clients from the Missouri Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, the Missouri Department of Veteran Affairs, the Kansas Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Rehabilitation Services for the Blind, Department of Labor, and Kansas Social and Rehabilitation Services.

  • What can you do?
  • What kind of work is available?


JVS helps you find the answers to these questions through a variety of means. We will give you a series of tasks to perform to see how your skills compare to those in various occupations; we will give you written tests to help you determine what job best matches your skills and interests; we will talk to you to find out what you feel would be the most suitable kind of work for you; and we will help you access information about available work.

  • Facility-based assessments
  • Standardized Work Samples
  • Community-based assessments
  • Vocational interest testing
  • Career planning counseling
  • Career exploration

 


If you choose to attend Evaluation Services at JVS, you will be asked to sign our Consumer Agreement.

Our evaluation unit has contracts with:

  • Kansas Social and Rehabilitation Services (VR)
  • SRS Employment Preparation Services
  • Veterans Administration (VR)
