The Kauffman Fund for Kansas City has awarded JVS a grant for the establishment of a Social Work Program and a social worker position to supervise the program unit.  This program unit will assist JVS participants to address critical health or personal issues that may be presenting barriers for success. This unit will coordinate case management activities with all our departments and programs. The social work services may be concurrent with existing  services or following the normal expiration of time limited agency programs. Social work services are often not available/not accessible/not affordable for the populations served at JVS and this program will be able to provide such needed services.

The Social Work Unit is supervised by Bruno Finocchario, licensed social worker. The unit provides internship opportunities for students currently enrolled in social work programs at the University of Kansas, the University of Missouri - Kansas City and Avila University.
