MANY WAYS TO HELP JVS

Jewish Vocational Service of Kansas City appreciates corporate and individual donations of goods and financial resources. Your generosity allows JVS to help people achieve their goals of self-sufficiency. We are committed to respecting the privacy of our donors.

Here's how your tax-deductible donations help
JVS:

  • Your donated goods of used office furniture, computers, licensed computer software and other office equipment is utilized within JVS programs.

  • Your donated men's, women & children clothing, mattresses & box springs, bedding, household items, small apliances, toiletries, toys, books, etc. will be provided to our refugee resettlement families who come to the United States with very few personal effects.

  • Making business donations, such as unclaimed merchandise, closeouts, surplus, scratch and dent items will be processed by our sheltered workshop and utilized in JVS auctions, generating operating revenue for our agency.

  • You can make a gift of real estate, securities, or other properties. You receive a current income tax deduction, save on capital gains tax and estate tax  in addition to the satisfaction of helping JVS.

  • You can make gifts of personal property, such as art, jewelry, antiques, or collections. An income or estate tax deduction is allowed on the full fair market value if the object is long-term gain property and its use is related to JVS's tax-exempt mission. This deduction allows you to avoid capital gains tax on the appreciation, and qualifies for an income tax deduction of up to 30% of your adjusted gross income in the year the gift is made.

  • Your financial donation directly benefits the programs at JVS. Your financial support, no matter the size, makes a difference.

  • Consider including JVS in your will or trust. By making a deferred gift in your will or estate plan, you will help JVS continue to provide quality services to our community.
